Gregory and his band members knew how to draw you in from the minute they took the stage; my friend and I were sitting way up in the back, yet he enveloped all of us with his voice, sweet, touching banter & then knocked us all down with his consistently georgeous performance, people were literally groaning over the first bars of songs. All of his band were so together, I've recommended my sister & nephew to go see him in Manchester, UK later this year. In fact we had bought a extra ticket for my sister to see him in NY two years ago, but then Covid happened, so now it's become a family pilgrimage!
He had the audience (in that large, breathtaking theatre) literally in the palm of his hand, the only other time I've seen that is with Bette Midler, Prince & the Rolling Stones. His music & voice literally brought the audience together as one. Not an easy fete for a NY audience, but it happened, everyone left happy & spent. Thank you Gregory for a very special night...see you next time.
